What is the Discounts For Carers Cashback Card?
The Discounts For Carers Cashback Card is a pre-paid debit card (NOT a credit card) that can be used anywhere in the world where you see the Visa® Acceptance Mark. Registration for the card is quick and easy. No credit checks. Initial top up is £20 and then a minimum the top up amount is £10 and maximum is £1,000. The initial top up is required when you register for the card. Activate the card when you receive it and start spending/continue topping up! You can top up your card securely via your online account portal at www.discountsforcarers.com/card or via the Spree App which can be downloaded from the App store by searching for the Spree App. Once the funds have cleared on your card account, you can use the card and spend the balance as you would with any other debit card. In fact, it's exactly the same as using any other debit card except you will start to accumulate cashback when you spend at our retail partners.
Am I entitled to a cashback card?
The cashback card is only valid for members that have a valid work email address and cannot be redeemed by any of our other members at this time.
I’m retired, can I apply for a Cashback Card?
Unfortunately, our cashback card is not available to retired members of staff right now. We'd love to be able to open it up to retired members and appreciate the benefits it would bring, however at this time we are not able to do so for legal reasons. We're working on this and hope to be able to include retired members of staff soon!
Until then as a member of our scheme there's a wide selection of online offers available through our website that you can take advantage of to make some fantastic savings.
Registering for a Card
Can I register straight away?
Yes, you are eligible as long as you are employed by a care organisation and have a valid work email address, If you don’t have appropriate validation, please call customer services on 01908 303564 for more information.
Do I have to pay to have a Discounts For Carers Cashback Card?
The card is free for the first 12 months. After 12 months there is a yearly fee of £2.99. The fee is taken automatically out of the cashback you have accumulated.
Can I get an additional card on my account?
Yes, you can get an additional card with the same benefits as long as it's for someone in the same household as you. Tick the "Would you like an additional card" box when you register or alternatively, you can order one via your online account at www.discountsforcarers.com/card. Additional card fees apply.
How do additional cards work?
You both share one account and spend from one account balance. Top ups can be made by either of you. Both cards are sent separately and need to be activated by each card holder. Once they are activated, both can use the cards at retail partners earning cashback as you spend. Cashback is credited to the account as and when it is topped up.
When will I receive my Card?
You will receive the card within 14 days from application. Please note that this time frame also applies to reissues for lost, stolen or expired cards. If you don't receive your card, please contact Customer Services on 01908 303564.
Will there be a credit check?
No, there are no credit checks or lengthy application process. You fill-in an online form and apply instantly. We may use Personal information provided by you in order to conduct appropriate anti fraud checks. Personal Information that you provide may be disclosed to a credit reference or fraud prevention agency, which may keep a record of that information.
What if I don't have the appropriate validation?
In order to sign up for a cashback card, you must have a valid care organisation email address. If you are employed by a care organisation and do not have a work email address, please contact your HR or IT department to obtain one. Alternatively, please contact customer services on 01908 303564
Using Your Card
Where can I use my card?
Your card is accepted anywhere you see the Visa Acceptance mark which is at over 36 million retailers worldwide. It's just the same as using any other Visa debit card. But you will only earn cashback when you use the card at qualifying retailers.
Does it cost me anything to use my Discounts For Carers Cashback Card?
No - there are no transaction costs involved with the Discounts For Carers Cashback Card when used in the UK. For charges relating to use outside the UK, please refer to the Terms and Conditions.
Can I use it for shopping online?
Yes your Cashback Card is accepted at most on-line retailers. You can also use it in-store or on the telephone. It's just the same as using any other Visa debit card.
How do I earn cashback using the Discounts For Carers Cashback Card?
Simple. Get your card. Make sure it's topped up with funds. Start spending online or in-store at our retail partners to accumulate cashback and when you next top up, the cashback you have earned will automatically be credited to your account. It usually takes about 5 - 7 days for your cashback purchases to be processed so please don't worry if not all your cashback appears if you top up quite soon after you have spent. The exception is Sainsbury's due to their process for calculating cashback and this can result in a longer timeframe which could be 3 - 4 weeks. Where possible, we will always credit your account as soon as we are advised of the cashback to be awarded.

Do I still receive loyalty points i.e. Nectar or Advantage?
Yes. All other retailer loyalty schemes and offers can be used alongside your card giving you even more value when spending with the Cashback Card.
Can I use my card abroad?
Yes, you can use your card anywhere the Visa Acceptance Mark is displayed and prepaid cards are accepted, however a 2.5% foreign exchange fee will apply.
Can I use my card to withdraw cash?
No. Your card cannot be used for cash withdrawals at ATMs, for purchasing foreign currency, cash advances or cash back at the till.
Are there any restrictions on where I use my card?
There are a few restrictions such as gambling and adult websites please see the Terms and Conditions for more information.
Will I earn cashback on petrol?
No. You also do not earn cashback on non-petrol items purchased at petrol stations.
Will the range of retailer partners and their cashback rates change?
Occasionally we do add or remove retail partners but always aim to offer a comprehensive range of outlets where you can earn cashback. Whilst we can't rule out any change governed by market forces, we will endeavour to maintain our current rates wherever possible. What is KYC and why do I need to verify my account?
KYC (Know Your Customer) is the process involving identifying and verifying the identity of members in order to facilitate compliance with Anti-Money Laundering laws (AML) and to protect our system from accidentally facilitating criminal activities.
Topping Up Your Card
Can I access my account on-line?
Yes. Once you have registered, you will be sent a user code and pass code by email. Keep this information safe as you will need it to access your online account in the future. Your online account can be accessed at www.discountsforcarers.com/card 24 hours a day. You can also download the Spree App and set up your account. You can edit your personal details, top up your card, check your statement/balance/cashback earned & pending as well as set up SMS balance alerts.
Where do I top-up my card?
You can top-up your card online via your online account at www.discountsforcarers.com/card or the Spree App 24 hrs a day. You cannot top up your card using Paypoint, Payzone or at the Post Office.
Does it cost anything to top-up my Discounts For Carers Cashback Card?
No its FREE to top up your card.
We would recommend you set up a regular payment from your debit card for your top ups to take away the hassle. The 'Top Up Card' tab on your online account gives you a full breakdown of your top up options and any charges that are applicable or please see our Terms and Conditions on the web site for full fees chargeable which will always reflect the most current version.
How long will my cashback take to show on my Discounts For Carers Cashback Card account?

Is there a minimum spend required to receive my cashback?
No, there is no minimum spend to receive your cashback. You just need to make sure you have sufficient funds on your card before you start spending.
What happens if I forget my PIN?
Please request a PIN reminder through the details tab on your online account or call 01908 303564 and select option 4 for 'forgotten PIN'.4 for forgotten pin.
What happens if my card is lost or stolen?
You must notify us immediately if your card is lost or stolen. Please call 01908 303564 and press option 3 for 'lost and stolen'. You should treat this card as cash in your wallet. Please note that if you have lost your card a replacement card fee will apply. For further details, please refer to the fees table in the terms and conditions.
